Media
I like taking photos because in the future, I want to be a photographer or an artist…or anything in the media field. Photography is so important to me, but in Kalandia camp, it’s difficult to do. People here think there’s something wrong with a girl walking around the camp on her own.
I live in Kalandia Camp and I study in Kalandia Girls School. My hobbies include drawing, writing, and swimming. My original village is Bria, near Al- Ramla. I joined Kalandia Child Centre and I take media courses with Kalandia Youth Media; it’s beautiful and exciting! We learn a lot of things from our experience, studying, and by taking photos. I work on it to be a famous journalist. I love this project very much. My friends and I wait for the chance to take photos and write about the different palces we go to for the program. The community I live inside does not accept this idea easily because we are girls.

I am a student. I have a sister and two brothers. I live inside Kalandia Camp. I love my school and the Child Centre. My hobbies include swimming and drawing. I wish to be a journalist in the future, insh’Allah. I love the KYM project and I love my friends. The best part of the program is that it gives me the chance to do what I love: to speak and write about my country, my people, and how much we are suffering here. I love my family and I love my neighbours. We usually meet and discuss the news and the situation in Palestine. Now, I hope to finish school quickly to pursue my dreams. I would love to travel and meet other people, experience how they live. I wish people knew how we’re suffering here due to the occupation. I wish I could write more, but the pen itself is tired and can’t handle what I have to say.
